Love: Teens Through Old Age
Updated: Feb 16, 2021
Robin Mitchell and I had been in the same class since we started school in 1964. At the age of 16 I sat in Gary Anderson’s typing class behind Robin when I noticed her shoulder length blonde hair. I tugged on it a few times over a week or two, and she didn’t know what to think. One of her close friends, Paula Rath, sat in the next row to the right. I managed to find the courage to ask Paula to tell Robin I’d like to give her a ride home from school. Robin was much more refined and I was rough around the edges in comparison. Our first date was working the popcorn stand for a basketball game or wrestling meet on January 8, 1976. On April 7, 1978 we married and faced the world happily together ever since.
